The Dante Alighieri Society is an international, non-denominational, non-profit organization dedicated to the teaching and promotion of the Italian language and culture through a network of 450 institutes based all over the world.
The Cape Town branch of the Society has been in operation since 1959 and provides a variety of services – ranging from different cultural activities to Italian language courses adhering to the European Framework of Language Learning. Open all year round, the Society provides a wide range of courses conducted by competent, enthusiastic and highly qualified teaching staff, as well as modern, multimedia teaching materials, efficient administration and a friendly atmosphere.
The Dante Alighieri Society incorporates the Italian School of Cape Town, which operates under the aegis of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is the ideal point of departure for those who wish either to begin or continue studying the Italian language and culture.
